Hagar Hershberger has a lot of reason to dislike Gideon Lapp, no matter how much she prays to God to help her forgive him. When Gideon suggested Peter marry another girl--after courting with Hagar--he lost her friendship. Now, Hagar's widowed mother has deeded her father's blacksmith forge to Gideon because Hagar' dead father taught Gideon the skill.
