Dear Reader, I was raised in an Amish/Mennonite family. My parents divorced when I was thirteen. My mother soon remarried, and everything changed. Deeply wounded by that abusive family life, I was an introverted teenager who hated meeting new people and had a fierce dread of public speaking. Then, I was cut off from my parents in 1992. During the healing process, a marvelous transformation happened in my life. My true personality slowly unfolded. Suddenly filled with abounding joy, I loved talking to people, making new friends, and learning about others.

Joy overflowed to my computer keyboard, and my books suddenly began to be published. My first release, Megan's Choice, was a reader's favorite. That same year I was chosen as a favorite new author for Heartsong Presents. My third release, a novella in Fireside Christmas, was on the CBA's bestseller list. Then in July 2001, my historical mystery, Reaping the Whirlwind, won the coveted Christy Award. I never dreamed that one day I'd love to address churches, women's groups, homeschooling organizations, writers clubs, and even appear on radio and television. My husband, David, and I served as missionaries on a tiny Caribbean island for fourteen years. We have seven children and have been homeschoolers for sixteen years.
