L.M. Elliott is the author of the WWII novel, "Under a War-torn Sky", a Notable Children's Trade Book in the Field of Social Studies (NCSS/CBC), a Jefferson Cup honor book for historical fiction, and winner of the Border's Original Voices Award for Young Adult Literature. She is also author of "Annie, Between the States", an IRA/CBC Teachers' Choice and a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age, plus "Flying South". Along with illustrator Lynn Munsinger, Elliott has created a picture book series featuring two adorable raccoon characters dealing with the joys and pangs of friendship--"Hunter's Best Friend at School", an IRA/CBC Children's Choice, and "Hunter and Stripe and the Soccer Showdown", a Book Sense Children's Pick. She lives with her husband and their children in Virginia.
