Clear Englebert began working in retail at Montgomery Ward in Huntsville, Alabama when he was fifteen. Still a teenager, he became manager of the paperback department of Booklandrs"s largest store. At nineteen, he opened his first Huntsville bookstore, called A Good Book Store. In 1978, Clear founded Books as Seeds, and in 1989, Opening Books (a 501c3 library and gift shop). He has managed at Green Apple Books (San Franciscors"s largest independent bookstore), at Pearly Gates Natural Foods in Huntsville, and at Ohana O Ka 'Aina Natural Foods in Kona, Hawaii. With decades of experience in retail visual merchandizing, Clear began a career as a feng shui consultant in Hawaii in 1995. He moved to San Francisco in 1996 to further his feng shui education. His first best-selling book, Feng Shui Demystified, was originally published in 2000 and was followed the next year with Bedroom Feng Shui.
They have appeared in four languages and, after a decade, have been reissued in revised and expanded editions. Clear teaches feng shui in Hawaii and California and consults on homes, gardens, and commercial spaces.
