1941, Provence, Southern Free Zone, France. A disgraced, former French police detective is summoned from prison to head a new branch of the police. The Milice, a spy network determined to break the Resistance and the Maquis of the Alps, is born. Cold-blooded killers are sought. But Jacques Dubois is not the man that they have envisaged.
