Jim Masselos is an honourary reader in history in the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry at the University of Sydney. He received a doctorate from the Heras Institute of Indian History and Culture, St Xavier's College, University of Bombay. He has written 'Indian Nationalism: An History' , co-authored ' Beato's Delhi: 1857-1997 ', and co-edited 'India: Creating a Modern Nation ' and 'Bombay and Mumbai: The City in Transition ', among many others. Naresh Fernandes is Editor in Chief of ' Time Out India '. He has previously worked with the 'Times of India' and the ' Associated Press ' in Mumbai and with the ' Wall Street Journal ' in New York. His writings have appeared in ' The New York Times ', 'Suddeutsche Zeitung', 'Transition', 'India Magazine', 'Man's World ', the 'Columbia Journalism Review ' and the ' National '. He has coedited the anthology 'Bombay Meri Jaan ' and is the award winning author of 'Taj Mahal Foxtrot -The Story of Jazz in India '.
