EDITH HOPE FINE, a longtime writer, educator, and lifetime logophile ("lover of words'") is the author of many books for young readers, both fiction and nonfiction, most recently Water, Weed, and Wait. Her picture book Under the Lemon Moon was named a Smithsonian Magazine Notable Book and a Parent's Choice Silver Honor Book. Sleepytime Me is her seventeenth book. Edith Hope Fine lives in Southern California. CHRISTOPHER DENISE is an award-winning children's book illustrator and visual development artist. His first book, a retelling of the Russian folk tale The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship, was described in Publishers Weekly as "a stunning debut." Since then, Christopher has illustrated more than twenty titles for young readers, including some in the acclaimed Redwall series by Brian Jacques. His books have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list and have been recognized by the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Awards, School Library Journal, Bank Street College of Education, Parents' Choice Foundation, and the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition.
