Oxford Reading Tree Stages 5-6 Glow-worms were formerly Catkins and More Catkins poetry. Each of the six books in the pack have fresh new covers with exciting illustrations by a variey of artists. This poetry selection has been chosen to match topics relevant to the age group - pets, special days, food, farms, seasons, and shopping. The level of difficulty matches Y1 T3/P2 T3. Although the poems are completely independent of other Oxford Reading Tree Stories, they can be introduced alongside storybooks at Stages 5 and 6. The Teaching Notes booklet included in the pack offers a Vocabulary Chart listing Rhymes and Spelling patterns and Year 1-2 high frequency words for each of the individual poems within a title; a Curriculum coverage chart showing teaching objectives covered; and suggestions for Speaking and Listening, Guided/Group reading, and Writing activities.
