The central character, Lieutenant Robba Cautious is exceptional as he deals with protecting his men against not only the German threat to America, but that of the white American soldiers that do not believe in the capability of the Black soldiers. The long war was bad enough, but Robba discovers that the war did not end in Europe, as he finds another war brewing in the United States when he returns. The author completed extensive research before writing this tale to be as historically accurate as humanly possible.
