We all know Benjamin Franklin as the most versatile of the founding fathers. Unfortunately, Franklin's autobiography does not cover those years. However, it provides a portrait of his earlier development and thought. It often reads more like a lecture in morality than a revealing autobiography, but Franklin's concise and humorous common-sense approach is both helpful and endearing.
