Mr. Gabriel, a 1966 Master of Arts graduate of the University of Rhode Island, is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts. His study, Ethnic Voting in Primary Elections: The Irish and Italians of Providence, Rhode Island, is an outgrowth of research in preparation of his doctoral dissertation, which he is now completing. The Bureau of Government Research was established by resolution of the Board of Trustees of State Colleges for the purpose of rendering service in the field of municipal government and to the state. The Bureau was established on February 1, 1960.
