I was born in June, 1937 to Goldie Atkins Gibson and Samuel Curtis Gibson in Bristol Virginia. I moved to Atkins, Virginia in the fourth grade. I moved back to Bristol, Virginia in 1994 for health reasons, but I return to Atkins often in my memories to visit the community and people I love so much. Through our marriage I would tell Ella about some of the funny things my relatives, my friends and I have done. She would say "write these stories down for me!" So here I go. I hope you enjoy these stories of my life in the mountains of southwest Virginia.
