This book grows out of a 2002 exhibition of Goldring's poems and prints displayed at MIT Museum. Goldring, a vision researcher who has low vision herself, uses a scanning laser opthalmoscope and other technology to create images of the human retina in the act of seeing. Her poetry, as Hilda Raz writes, "pushes through silence to speak.
