When Faith finally has had enough of her abusive father she decides to leave their rural West Virginia farmstead and seek her own journey. No longer desiring to be her father's punching bag and servant, she makes for New York City. Along the way Faith meets up with Emily, who has suffered her own brand of abuse. Together they resolve to make it in New York. Along the way they encounter dangerous people bent on doing them harm. They also meet Osgo, an odd Seneca Native American intent on helping Faith and Emily not only find their way to New York, but, assist the two young girls find themselves and strengths they never knew they had. Through teaching ancient knowledge and training their malleable minds to expand beyond what is in the present. Together, with Rose and Julio, Faith and Emily discover they have the power to shed the destructive emotions that have latched onto their souls from the past they've tried so hard to escape from.
