Leah hates school. Hates to be trapped indoors listening to drones drone on about the importance of (Fill in the blank based on class subject). She knows nothing is more important to survive in life than the knowledge she already has. Buddy Holly will cure depression. Mama's pies cure world hunger. Joel will eventually cure her broken heart since he smiled at her and never looked at her again. And that if one wishes hard enough, everything will work out. Then one day her english teacher droned on about Hawthorne and she wished she was in Canada that she popped, literally, to another country.

This started her journey to surviving the open road, fighting evil, crime busting in cotton jersey (because spandex is way to stuffy) and a group of fellow wishers with stories and abilities of their own. They will question what is right and what is necessary, but their family by choice will stick together as long as they are meant to.
