A Life Worth Saving is part of the Miniseries Novel Group. Its the first installment to the series. My name is Alisa Wells. I used to be called Ivy Kendrick and that only meant something to one person. Someone I knew when I was younger. His name was Ryan Upton. I thought about him so much in my life, but I have to admit that I always had this fear about making a connection with him because of what he witnessed when he was younger. I was about seven and he was about nine years old.

We lived across the street from each other. My life was very different from his. He had a very loving family and I came from a very abusive home. I met Ryan when he, one afternoon came over and sat down beside me on the curb. He would start talking to me, but I didn't say anything back and he said that's okay he could do all the talking and he did. He would do everything to make me laugh, and he did. I liked when he would join me and talk to me, but I still had this fear to say anything. I was scared.

I was scared of going back into the house because I knew what was going to happen when I did. I had this feeling that he knew because he saw the rope burns on my wrists. I tried to cover it up that's when he looked at me and said you're not alone.I'll always be here for you.
