The metre gauge Southern main line runs for 990 km. from Bangkok to Padang Besar, on the Malaysian border. In this book, the third in the series, we look at the railway, in photographs, from Nakhon Pathom to Padang Besar. We also look at the branches that run to Suphan Buri, Nam Tok, Khiriratthanikhom, Kantang, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Su-ngai Kolok, as well as the Thailand trains that continue from Padang Besar to Butterworth in Malaysia. The preserved steam and diesel locomotives along the way are not forgotten. Finally, we look at the Mae Klong Railway that runs westwards from Bangkok to Samut Songkhram. This is the railway scene in the South and West of Thailand, as it is today, in photographs taken over an eleven year period to 2014.
