Shaun Greenhalgh has been described by the London Metropolitan Police as 'the most diverse art forger known in history'. From a shed in the backyard of his parents' home in Bolton, Shaun produced works of dazzling beauty that fooled the world's leading art dealers and collectors. From ancient stone carvings to paint on canvas to delicate ceramics, Shaun worked across a dizzying array of mediums to create 'copies' of extraordinary accuracy and artistry that even now are almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing. Shaun's career as 'the Bolton Forger' came to an end when he was jailed for over four years for forgery and his extraordinary career came to light. On leaving jail, Shaun self-published a memoir he had written behind bars, which came out in the UK at the end of 2015. Combining the audacity and technical sophistication of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN with a very English modesty, a dry humour and a wonderfully offbeat charm, A Forger's Tale is an utterly unique memoir.
