Alan Greenwood launched Vintage Guitar magazine in 1986 and in '90 started The Official Vintage Guitar Price Guide. The company has expanded to include the massive daily-updated Vintage Guitar Online at www.VintageGuitar.com, the free Overdrive email newsletter, large followings on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter, and co-sponsorship of guitars shows across the country. Gil Hembree (Austin, Texas) was contracted by Vintage Guitar in 2000 as a market analyst for the Vintage Guitar Price Guide. Ram W. Tuli began collecting guitars as a teenager while he was in the US Navy. He spent most of his professional life working as an engineer and production plant manager.
He has been keeping track of vintage instrument values for over 40 years, and for the last 20 years, he's been singing and playing lead guitar for the Phoenix-based blues band Psychedelic Mooj. Besides making music, Ram also loves writing detective stories and books about guitars and the Navy.
