The author uses her skills as a social worker to present an easy to understand view into the life of a young boy whose parents are both active duty military. It addresses issues not often found among other children's books and provides children from dual military families someone to identify with. In addition, the author provides questions families, teachers and other role models can use to discuss how it feels for a child to live in a dual military family.
