This is the account of two Swedish families who emigrated in the 19th century. Escaping religious persecution and harsh economic conditions, they made the dangerous voyage to America, met, merged and spread out across their new homeland. From volunteering for military service to homesteading the plains to becoming a part of the industrial revolution, they assimilated without losing their identity. Their contributions of honesty, hard work and faith have enriched the culture and embody the best of the American dream.
