Author John Harte was originally an actor-playwright in London until he became an investigate journalist. Four of his plays were produced in England and elsewhere. After the film of The Lady from Shanghai was released, featuring Rita Hayworth, John discussed their divorce with Orson Welles. Their exchanges in Paris marked the first stage in writing the following true-life story about five remarkable film stars, John's own theater career began as a child prodigy at the age of four- teen when he designed scenery for the Everyman Theatre in Hampstead after being awarded a scholarship to the Slade School of Fine Art. Then he became the leading actor at The Playhouse Theatre in Henley-on-Thames. From there, he was chosen to understudy Sir John Gielgud at the Haymarket Theatre in Love for Love. He played over 200 leading roles in a multitude of plays in London and all over Britain before switching careers to become an international business manager in national and global companies, like J. Walter Thompson and GE, in England, South Africa and Canada.
