John Harte is a popular historian who was born in London and now is based in Ottawa. He has written a series on British spies including Dancing with Death (on Sidney Reilly, the original James Bond), The Passionate Spies (on Gertrude Bell, St John Philby, and Lawrence of Arabia) and A Moment to Live on the only son of St John Philby: the notorious cold war double agent Kim Philby. Harte has also written on Hollywood stars such as Grace Kelly who fought for success in the studio system (Hollywood's Reckless Women) and now, in Unleash the Dogs of War, he explains how the bitter rivalries and constant arguments between the top Generals in Britain and US determined victory and loss in battle, shaped the course of the war, and the traced shift of power from Britain to the US.
