Of the 164 men who graduated from West Point in 1915, a Stunning 59 went to attain the rank of brigadier general or higher. They would become as "the class the stars fell on," and their achievements remain unsurpassed in over two hundred years of academy history. Two five-star and four-star generals. Seven three-star lieutenant generals, Twenty-four two-star major generals, and twenty-four one-star brigadier generals. The West Point class of 1915 counted among their number many illustrious names, most notably us president and Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower and first chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Omar Bradley. Of the fifty-nine men-36 percent of the class-who went on to earn their stars as generals, Eisenhower, Bradley, and many others contributed significantly to the Allied victory in World War II and played key roles in the postwar history of the United States. For more than half a century, these men exerted tremendous influence on the shaping of modern America, and that influence remains substantial to this day.
