Lyn Hejinian is a poet, essayist, and translator. She is the author of over twenty-five volumes of poetry and critical prose including HEARING with Leslie Scalapino (Litmus Press, 2021), AERIAL 10: LYN HEJINIAN (Edge Books, 2016), THE BEGINNER (Tuumba Press, 2002), POSITIONS OF THE SUN (Belladonna*, 2018), and SLOWLY (Tuumba Press, 2002). Her groundbreaking book of poetry, My Life, has had five reprintings from 1980-2002. From 2001-2020, Hejinian taught at the University of California, Berkeley. In addition to her academic work, she has long been involved in anti- privatization activism.
