Mike Brodie is tired of people thinking she's a man, and right now, she is tired of everything. As well as keeping an eye on Raffi, her undergraduate goddaughter, she's been running her music shop, doing voice work and playing the saxophone. Her pushy manager, Paul, is filling her diary to bursting point. When Mike decides to take a well-earned break, she heads for Berwick Grange, but being ambushed by armed men on her arrival is just the start of her troubles. When she discovers a body floating in an ornamental pool, mishap turns to murder.
