Excerpt from The Hundred Rools and Extracts Therefrom: Made by Authority, 2nd Edward I; County of Suffolk, LothinglandON the 11th July, 1800, the House of Commons presented to the King an address, in which, after mentioning that seventy years had elapsed since the last general Parliamentary inquiry into the subject of the custody and preservation of the Public Records, they besought His Majesty to give directions for the better care and arrangement of those documents, and for the printing of some of them.
