Ann O'Mara Heyward is a horror fiction and nonfiction writer based in Cleveland, Ohio, and Sebastian, Florida. Ann's fiction has been described as "quiet horror, with a gut punch." Her short story "The Carny" won The Ghost Story's Supernatural Fiction Award (Spring 2023) and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her fiction has appeared in Solar Press Horror Vol.1, Jane Nightshade's Serial Encounters (Hellbound Books), GASPS curated by Judith Sonnet, 21st Century Ghost Stories Volume II (Wyrd Harvest Press), Stories to Take to Your Grave, Mortuary Edition and Carnival of Horror (both, Undertaker Books), Behind the Shadows II and III (Inkd Publishing), Thuggish Itch: School (Gypsum Sound Tales), It's Dark in Their Minds (RDG Press), parABnormal Magazine, and been aired by the NoSleep Podcast and Tales to Terrify. With Jane Nightshade, she co-edited Hellbound Highway: An Anthology of Traveling Terror (Hellbound Books Publishing, December 2025), about very bad trips, indeed. She is also at work on a nonfiction book on horror film, entitled "The Thinking Woman's Guide to Horror Movies." No One Heard Her Screams is her debut short story collection.
