Michiko is a novel written from the viewpoint of 'Slick' Jones regarding the evolution in the lives of himself and Dan O'Driscoll, his erstwhile partner in the Yokohama C.I.D. Both are now married and successful in business. Their penchant for taking on 'off the record' private investigations, however, has the unanticipated consequence of retaliation, directed at those innocents closest to them.
