Western Australian by birth, Tony Holmes was a published aviation author by the age of 20. Moving to England in 1988, he has been involved full-time in aviation publishing ever since. In that time, Tony has written more than 60 books and edited a further 450. He has also written articles, bookazines and books for Key. Tony has a personal connection with the Spitfire, as his grandfather, John Holmes, served as one of the unsung 'Few' keeping No 74 Sqn's Spitfires airworthy in 1939-41. Tony lives in Sevenoaks, Kent, with his wife Katy and sons Thomas and William.
