Colin Howard is a senior primary lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITT) at the University of Worcester. He has been involved in primary education for over 24 years of which 14 years has been as a successful head teacher in both small village and large primary school settings. He has a strong research interest which includes primary science, aspects of professional practice and teachers' professional identity. He is a SIAMS inspector of the Diocese of Hereford. Joy Carrollis a senior lecturer in Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) at the University of Worcester. She teaches on the undergraduate and post-graduate courses and is Partnership Placement Manager. Before moving into ITE she worked as an Assistant Headteacher and a class teacher and in primary schools in London, Hereford, Worcester and Stafford and was the Manager of a private Nursery School. Following this, Joy worked as an Advisor within the area of School Workforce in a Local Authority, working closely with schools on deployment of support staff.
She is currently working on doctoral research into how schools and universities work in partnership to support ITE. Jane Owensteaches on postgraduate mentoring and coaching modules at the University of Worcester, and also undertakes dissertation supervision at the University of Warwick and coaching with and coaching duties at two other universities: Aston University and the University of Warwick. Deborah Langstonis a Principal lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITT) at the University of Worcester. She is a member of the Primary management team and is Primary Partnership Lead. With responsibility for NQT support, Deborah enjoys close links with former students. Prior to joining the university Deborah worked for 25 years in a wide variety of school settings. She was a class-based teaching deputy head teacher for 3 years and a successful head teacher at a school in Worcestershire for 11years during which time she also took the roles of SENCo and Safeguarding lead. Research interests include Inclusion, The Importance and Impact of Teamwork, Leadership and Teacher efficacy.
