When I create a piece of writing, it is often to find an answer to my own questions, almost as if I were taking apart a clock to further examine its parts that make up its interior to understand how it works. By writing, I compose the answer that is best suitable for what I believe. This is simply how my mind works. Many of the poems in this text were inspired by the people around mesome being friends and others being those that I hardly know but have examined in day-to-day life. Often, my writing can be cynical for good reason. When I first began it was a coping mechanism to turn all my hateful feelings into something I found beautiful, a high school boys way of trying to understand the world around him while, at the same time, understanding himself. This book is a summary of how I think and what I have been throughwhether it be love, hate, confusion, or saying goodbye. My words may not always be inspiring, and they may not always be so gruesome.
But I can tell you they are the truth that defines me. I hope you will further understand upon reading this that this is simply how I deal with things.
