The Paranormal Investigators League receive a call for help from a preschool in Providence, Rhode Island, because a figure in a Revolutionary War uniform has been peeking through the window at the children. The investigators discover that the figure is the ghost of a Revolutionary War soldier. The ghost is so well-known locally that he has become known as the Legend of Providence. The investigators look into his background and, after a long and adventure-filled investigation, discover enough about his background to help his soul find closure and rest. As in all the Paranormal Investigators League books, this one ends with the first-person story of the ghost in life.
