Great American playwright William Inge won both a Pulitzer Prize and an Academy Award. He was America's most successful playwright in the 1950s. This collection includes 4 previously unpublished works. The six plays were performed as part of the 2009 William Inge Theatre Festival. This diverse selection of short plays demonstrates a previously little-known range to Inge's writing, tackling racial issues and outright comedy. The plays included are: "The Love Death," "The Silent Call," "Bad Breath," "Moving Up," "A Murder," "Morning on the Beach." Several of the plays are suitable for high school and college production.
