'The Traitors' is a bold and gripping work that tells of British treachery during the Second World War through the prism of the lives of four men: the chaotic, tragic John Amery; the idealistic but hate-filled William Joyce; the cynical, murderous conman Harold Cole; and Eric Pleasants, an iron-willed former wrestler and circus strongman, and pacifist.
