Dr. Sylvester Izah is a distinguished faculty member at Bayelsa Medical University in Yenagoa, Nigeria. Dr. Izah holds dual Ph.D. in Public Health, and Applied Microbiology and Environmental Health, an M.Sc. in Applied Microbiology, and a B.


Sc. in Biological Sciences from Niger Delta University, Nigeria. In addition to his teaching role, he holds the position of Assistant Director of Academic Planning, Research, and Innovations at the university. Dr. Izah is a licensed Environmental Health Specialist in Nigeria and a true polymath in the academic sphere. His expertise spans various disciplines, and he has a particular focus on Sustainable Human-Environmental Health Interactions. This broad area of study encompasses the assessment and management of air, soil, and water quality, as well as toxicology, hygiene, sanitation, food science, waste management, biodiversity, and sustainability. Izah's academic prowess is underscored by an impressive research and publication portfolio, which includes more than 250 peer-reviewed publications. His work extends to the publication of edited books with renowned publishers. Dr Matthew Chidozie OGWU is an Assistant Professor of Integrated Ecology and Sustainable Development at Appalachian State University, United States of America. He has a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Seoul National University, M.Sc. (Distinction) and B.


Sc. (First Class Hons.) in Plant Diversity and Conservation and Plant Biology and Biotechnology respectively from the University of Benin, Nigeria. Dr. Ogwu is an interdisciplinary academic with numerous awards and scholarships. His research focuses on the assessment of coupled human and natural systems and socio-ecological systems for sustainable environmental development, which includes air pollution, Eco and One Health, soil microbial and geographical ecology, and biodiversity issues and policies. Dr. Ogwu studies the mechanisms that underlie microbial community establishment, structure, diversity, abundance, functionalities, and general ecology.


To understand the processes that lead to equilibrium, Dr. Ogwu integrates studies of morphology, function, and ecology within biographical and Sustainability contexts. During his time as a Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Benin and Centre For Floristic Research of the Apennines respectively, he taught courses within the integrated natural sciences, mentored numerous students, collaborated with experts from diverse backgrounds, and contributed to the European Union-funded NATURA LIFE research project on biodiversity and ecosystem management in the Central Apennine region of Italy. Dr. Ogwu has published over 90 peer-reviewed works and presented his results at international conferences. He leverages his education, skills, and experience to develop environmental management and sustainable food security policies. Adams Ovie Iyiola has Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Fisheries Management from Olabisi Onabanjo University and the University of Ibadan in 2008 and 2013 respectively. He is on the verge of completing his PhD programme (Fish Ecology and Climate Change Dynamics) at the University of Ibadan.


His research areas are aquatic pollution and toxicology, sustainable fisheries biodiversity and anthropogenic activities. He is a lecturer in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management, Osun State University and teaches subjects covering oceanography, limnology, hydrobiology, aquatic flora and fauna, fisheries ecology, fish species distribution and biodiversity management. He is a member of several professional bodies/learned societies and has participated in various research activities within and outside the university system. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed journals and contributed to book chapters published by highly rated publishers. He is a resource fellow for various empowerment schemes organized by local and international funding agencies.
