It's always daylight where Alena lives. She spends her life painting the sun that hangs motionless in the sky over her village, until a foreign girl wielding a spear storms the village square and demands to know the way back to her home. But Alena only knows of her own homeland Eltad, an island floating in the middle of the sky. Notch sailed off from the shore of her home village in search of someone, but she finds herself on a bizarre island surrounded by air instead of water. Worse, the only local who notices anything about the island's oddities is an annoying painter girl. Still, in need of a guide, Notch swallows her pride and asks the girl for help. As Alena joins Notch's journey to find a way off of the island of Eltad, they discover sinister secrets underlying the beautiful island's superficial shell. Why does Alena have no memories of her childhood, and why is the sun in Eltad motionless? How did Notch arrive there, and where is the person she seeks? The answers may lie in the lighthouse at the island's heart.

A lighthouse that never glowed until the day when Notch arrived on Eltad.
