Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of New England, its classic architecture and rugged landscapes have inspired Carol to draw. And, with a perennial gardener for a mother and an artistic craftsman for a father, appreciating nature and art was contagious. She majored in Fine Art at Union College in Schenectady, New York, and then devoted many years to raising her four children. In her 50's she returned to art with a focus on pen and ink drawings until a friend requested that Carol illustrate ¿A Letter from Ginger Boy.¿ This launched her illustrating career and returned her to watercolors. Her other illustration jobs include: Once There Was No Easter, Sophia¿s School Worries, Sophia¿s Best Christmas, and Janie Presents Philip¿s Snowman, all independently published at Shires Press in Manchester, Vermont. In 2016, after reconnecting with her author friend Paige Jaeger, Carol began illustrating Who Will Roar When I Go. Her work was suddenly interrupted by Lymphoma.
Today, she thanks God Almighty for the privilege of completing the pages of this book and she will forever be grateful for the inspiring devotion of her family as she struggled thru the months of difficult treatment. Now Paige and Carol hope to complete a series of books on many of the world¿s endangered species.
