Dr. Sumira Janis an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Shaheed Himayun Muzzamil Memorial Government Degree College Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, under the Higher Education Department, UT J&K, India. She earned her Ph.D. from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, where she studied the physiological and metabolic responses of plants to ionizing radiation. Her research spans plant stress physiology, phytochemistry, environmental biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. Dr. Jan has received recognition for her work, including the DST Fast Track Young Scientist Award (2015) and the BioCARE Early Career Scientist Award (2014).
She has also led funded research projects supported by SERB, DBT, and CSIR, contributing to a better understanding of plant adaptation and bioactive compound production in challenging environments. Dr. Gowhar Hussain Bhatis a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Government Degree College Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, under the Higher Education Department, UT J&K, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from the University of Kashmir, where he worked on the Triaxial Projected Shell Model study of transitional nuclei. His research interests include nuclear structure, chiral symmetry, wobbling motion, gamma-band phenomena, and shape evolution in atomic nuclei. Dr.
Bhat has received recognition for his doctoral work, including the Alburuj R. Rahman Prize for Best Ph.D. Thesis, and is a Fellow of the Indian Physics Association. He supervises doctoral candidates and leads research projects funded by SERB, contributing to theoretical nuclear physics and to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
