The Avotek Spaceflight Dictionary is a convenient source of spaceflight-related terms commonly encountered by space program students at all levels, launch vehicle and other maintenance personnel on the job, and entry level employees in the rapidly growing space industry. For this first edition of the dictionary, we have selected terms relating to the construction, propulsion systems, and orbital dynamics of both historic and recent launch vehicles and the payloads being carried into space. These include global positioning satellites, manned space operations, and vehicles designed for surface operations at space destinations. Written in nontechnical, descriptive language, this dictionary doesn't define terms with other terms that necessitate look up.
