Ellen Jovin is Co-founder and Principle of Syntaxis, a New York City-based communication skills training firm. She has spent her entire professional life (nearly 30 years) either writing professionally or teaching writing and related language skills including composition, speech, ESL, and other communication skills as an adjunct lecturer at New York University, Pratt Institute, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Since 2001 she has been teaching seminars in business writing, email etiquette, grammar, editing/proofreading, and English as a foreign language at major corporations throughout the U.S. Ellen has a B.A. in German studies from Harvard University and an M.A.
in comparative literature from UCLA.
