In a sleepy suburban enclave, amidst the height of the summer swelter, a young girl is kidnapped. Moonlighting as a prostitute, her older sister tracks her down to a truck stop in West Texas, where she believes her sibling is being held for transport to a larger syndicate of traffickers in Los Angeles. Complicating matters is a down-and-out trucker who accepts an illicit side job hauling what he believes to be guns or drugs to fund his heroin-addled daughter's latest rehab stint. But after a band of hatchet men start tailing him, he finds the contraband in tow to be a more perilous commodity than he bargained for. Caught in the web of a criminal organization with roots everywhere, he must fend for his life whilst exposing the association responsible for the abduction of countless victimized children.
