Joseph's story is unique. Few other stories in the Bible describe God's relationship with a person so intimately. However, this narrative has features in it that sound so familiar and so real that most of it could easily happen in our own day! It is one of the greatest stories ever told of trust in God, love for others and forgiveness toward those who mean harm. Through the story of Joseph we learn how deception and treachery cannot frustrate the plan of God: "You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good - so that it would come about as it is today, with many people's lives being saved."
