In Dermatologic Surgery , Jonathan Kantor has assembled an all-star cast of section editors and authors, thereby creating a state-of-the-specialty reference work that showcases the current breadth and depth of the field. It is not only beautifully presented and easy to read but also succeeds in combining the benefits of a single-volume multi-author global dermatologic surgery reference work with the strengths of a dedicated reconstructive text. Each chapter includes an introduction highlighting beginner and expert pearls as well as pitfalls and cautions, some with the heading "Don't Forget!" The many figures and diagrams are detailed and beautifully rendered. There are numerous photographs and step by step videos to supplement the more technique-based content. This text provides a thoughtful, practical, and broad-based approach to the field of dermatologic surgery, and my sense is that it will be useful both to trainees and experienced practitioners. I truly appreciate all of the hard work that went into this magnum opus. More importantly, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. -- Désirée Ratner , MD, Dermatologic Surgery Journal The world of dermatologic surgery may be overwhelming, but this text serves as a gentle approach to fundamentals as well as one of the most comprehensive flap texts currently available.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this textbook and find myself implementing Kantor's techniques in my daily practice of dermatologic surgery. Dermatologic Surgery is an attractive addition to any surgically oriented dermatologist's office. What astonishes me most about this 1440-page, multi-author textbook is how neatly it is arranged. Kantor does not stop there. He manages to include 200 short videos that truly enhance the surgical experience. Watching these videos makes you feel as though you are standing right next to the surgical field. -- Michelle Xu , MD, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
