In 2018, my daughters gave me a Father's Day card with this saying. We have opposing political views - conservative for my part and liberal on theirs. We frequently attempt to discuss them intelligently, and sometimes succeed. I think they gave me an appropriate card because we do love each other. Expressing political and/or philosophical views are complicated, time consuming, and can be dangerous, often leading to family distress and, in the ultimate case, to complete deterioration. In order for this not to happen to our family, we usually do not explore the total meaning of each other's beliefs. I am going to use this book to assemble writings by various authors to express political or philosophical opinions that I believe. This is my way of explaining myself as thoroughly as possible without upsetting my children.
