Jerry Knapp is the chief of the Rockland County (NY) Hazmat Team and a training officer at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, New York. A firefighter since 1973, Knapp is a firefighter/EMT with the West Haverstraw (NY) Fire Department and member of the technical panel for Underwriters Laboratories' research on interior and exterior fire attack at residential fires. He coauthored the book House Fires (2019) and the Basic Fire Attack chapter in Fire Engineering's Handbook for Firefighter I II. He has written numerous articles published in Fire Engineering magazine. Knapp recently retired from the Directorate of Emergency Services at the US Military Academy, West Point NY. Brian Focht, CFPS, CFEI, is deputy chief of the Willow Grove (PA) Volunteer Fire Company and a firefighter/paramedic and training officer at Horsham (PA) Fire Company. He was the 2016 recipient of the IAFC Garry Briese Safety Performance Award. He has 20 years of experience in the gas utility business and 36 years in the fire service.
He has authored several articles on utility safety and autism awareness and has presented on those topics nationally.
