A handful of Motherland survivors have landed safely on Earth and stumbled upon Warsaw Indiana, a city protected by an electrified dome. Warsaw offers the last of the Old World to survive the Vahlcolm War by boasting technology not found anywhere else, but as the Motherland survivors settle into a new way of life, they bear witness to the effects of a ruthless dictatorship carried out by Aaron Amador, the city's judge. Caleb Starchild and Roman Giles rally the people of Warsaw in a race against time to mount a resistance capable of defending itself against not only Judge Amador, but also the mysterious army that surrounds the city and goes by the name of the Dead Monarchs.
