Caticorns Galore: Level 3 - Part 3 is the third installment in a four-part series designed for children ages 7+. As the most advanced title in the Caticorns Galore collection, this book integrates social-emotional learning (SEL), narrative storytelling, reflective writing, and detailed coloring to support developmental growth in both character and creativity. The book contains 18 intricately illustrated black-and-white coloring scenes. Each scene is accompanied by a four-part activity sequence intended to foster deeper understanding of core SEL concepts such as empathy, patience, fairness, and responsible decision-making. Children are introduced to a social scenario through a visual coloring page, followed by a short narrative (social story) that presents a problem or dilemma. After reading, they are guided through reflective questions under the "Pause (Paws) and Ponder" section, which encourages thoughtful discussion or journaling. This is followed by a creative writing prompt, where the child is invited to imagine their own resolution to the story. The final page in each sequence invites the child to design and describe a new caticorn hero that could help in the scenario.
The illustrations are complex and whimsical, intentionally designed to challenge fine motor coordination and sustained attention. All pages are formatted for A4 size and optimized for use with sharpened colored pencils. The book promotes engagement with age-appropriate SEL themes while also encouraging artistic expression and creative storytelling. Level 3 - Part 3 continues to introduce new characters and increasingly nuanced dilemmas, while Part 4, titled Tails of a Happy Ending, will present all 55 scenes from the first three parts as coloring-only pages, offering a full-circle experience where children can compare their personal endings with official story resolutions. Created by a veteran educator with over 25 years of experience, the Caticorns Galore series is designed for use at home, in classrooms, or in therapeutic settings to support emotional development, literacy, and creative confidence.
