Carsten Krohn was born in Hamburg and studiedarchitecture, urban planning and art history at the University of FineArts Hamburg, the University of Hamburg and at Columbia University inNew York. He obtained a PhD in art history with a study on the receptionof Buckminster Fuller in architecture. CarstenKrohn worked in theBerlin offices of Daniel Libeskind and Norman Foster and has taught atKarlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Technical University of Berlin,Humboldt University of Berlin and as professor at Anáhuac University andat the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. He is the author of books onthe work of Peter Behrens, Mies van der Rohe, Hans Scharoun and ErichMendelsohn, curated the exhibition Unbuilt Berlin and worked with Knut Klaßen on video projects. His photographs have been shown in various exhibitions. Michele Stavagnastudied architecture and the history of architecture at the UniversitàIUAV in Venice, completing his doctorate in the History of Architectureand Urban Design in 2005 with a dissertation on the photobooks of ErichMendelsohn in the context of his architectural work. He has taughtTheory and History of Industrial Design at the Università degli Studi diTrieste (Italy) and lectures regularly at various European universitiesand at symposia in Europe, Israel and the USA. He is co-author (withCarsten Krohn) of Erich Mendelsohn - Buildings and Projects(Basel: Birkhäuser 2021), has written numerous articles on ErichMendelsohn, Aldo Rossi and Baldassare Longhena and is editor andtranslator of the Italian edition of Die Baukunst der neuesten Zeitby Gustav Adolf Platz.


Since 2005, Michele Stavagna lives and works inBerlin and is a correspondent for the magazine of the Association ofGerman Architects (BDA) Die Architekt.
