Dr. Masahiro Kuroda, (84 years old), born on January 17, 1941. While enrolled at Keio University, he studied abroad at Harvard University in the United States for two years from 1979 to 1981, with support from the Fulbright Foundation. At Harvard, I received numerous forms of support while serving as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Economics and as a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard University Japan Institute. My collaborative research with Professor Dale W. Jorgenson, a leading economist at Harvard, has continued since that time, and this book is the culmination of that research. Reischauer, then Director of the Harvard University Japan Institute. Masahiro Kuroda is a Principal Fellow, Center for Research and Development Strategy, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Professor Emeritus of Keio University. Ph.D. (Business and Commerce). He was promoted to Professor in 1982. Through the Director of the Keio Economic Observatory and Vice President (provost) of Keio University during June 2001- May 2005, he moved on to President of Economic and Social Research Institute, Cabinet Office during June 2005-May 2008.
In June 2008, he affiliated with current position. He experienced President of the International Input-Output Association IIOA during 1997-1999; and Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Natural Resources and Energy, Energy and Supply Sub-committee in Japan from 1998-2010. (Awards): the Economist Award and the Japan Statistical Society Prize. Huang is a Senior Research Fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Institute (OPRI) of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, a Visiting Researcher at the SciREX Center of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), and an adjunct lecturer in charge of Special Economic Seminar in the Faculty of Economics at Toyo University in Tokyo, Japan. Dr.
Huang''s research expertise includes general equilibrium analysis, GTAP modeling for policy simulations, and blue impact evaluation. At OPRI, he is responsible for economic analysis for projects related to the blue economy, blue finance, science, technology, innovation policy assessment, and disaster risk management. Dr. Huang aims to connect the ocean to the social system on interdisciplinary topics, including renewable energy, deep sea water industry, global supply chain resilience, eco-friendly shipping, and hydrogen society. Prior to joining OPRI, he served as a Research Associate in the Asian Development Bank Institute and a resource speaker for capacity building and training. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Economics from GRIPS and is a member of the Japan Ocean Policy Society, Japan Economic Association, and the Japan Castle Foundation.
Dr. Huang has been awarded the best presenter in the International Input-Output Association (IIOA) in 2014 and 2016. He has published various works in several academic journals, including the Journal of Social and Economic Development, Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science, and Marine Policy. In addition, he has edited several books, including "Moving toward Net-Zero Carbon Society: Challenges and Opportunities" (2023, Springer-Nature, co-eds.), "Blue Economy and Blue Finance: Towards Sustainable Development and Ocean Governance" (2022, ADBI press, co-eds.), and "Climate Change and Disaster Management Law and Policy" (2020, New Sharing Publishing, co-eds.).
